Green outlook for low energy prices

How have the prices of solar PV and wind power profiles evolved in Poland? An in-depth analysis shows that it was surprisingly cheap.

Below are charts with price profiles for wind and PV power as of January 2022. as of October 2023.

We recorded the lowest average price of photovoltaic energy in Poland in October 2023. – amounted to PLN 339. This month we could also count on the low price of wind power, which was 356.95 PLN. At the same time, the average price on the DAM was PLN 423.95.

Of course, nThe lowest prices for wind energy are recorded during the generation season?, i.e. in autumn and winter, while for photovoltaics – in spring and summer. Due to the sunny autumn, we could also count on lower prices in October. The price of RES both solar and wind profile separately in individual hours significantly reduces the price of final energy throughout the year.

The analysis shows a positive outlook This is important news for the Polish industry, which is struggling to compete in the global market. RES profile On the one hand, it greens industrial production, on the other hand, it allows significantly lower costs with cheaper production. Consequently, it also means a trend toward lower prices in the cPPA market – multi-year supplies of green energy to industry.

This is very good news for the industry, which from 2026. will enter the path of approx. 30% greening

This raises the question of which direction the Polish energy mix will go? We currently have approx. 16 GW in photovoltaics and more than 9 GW in wind power. Generation peaks are also surplus energy, which we should consume after introducing them, among other things. For energy storage or electrolyzers. Green hydrogen will also help decarbonize the chemical and metallurgical industries.
